Well, Samantha and I tied the knot yestereday. Our photographer posted a couple of shots on his blog just in case anyone wanted to take a look. We'll have a website of the most to all the pictures later in the month. She just looked stunning.

The wedding, overall went very well and as the wedding party and the congregation celebrated in communion, you could really feel the Holy Spirit.
Thank you Lord.

We leave for Belize on Tuesday for about a week. We thought it would be better to take a couple of days after the wedding to get things together and just take our time an not feel rushed. Things just went so fast yesterday.
As for the guy with the weird hair cut, that's one of the youth that we led in the NYI. He decided to go with his "traditional" summer haircut for the wedding.

I looked at the blog and the picture was beautiful. Congatulations.
My daddy started the Valley Church in Louisville. He converted the three room school into a sanctuary/ parsonage and started services. Then he built the basement of the church. They worshiped there for several years. Warren and I were married there. Someone else was pastor when they put the top on the church. It is missionary Ken Walker's home church.

Thanks for sharing some of your special day!
Gracious God, we give you thanks for your tender love in sending Jesus Christ to come among us, to be born of a human mother, and to make the way of the cross to be the way of life. We thank you, also, for consecrating the union of man and woman in his Name. By the power of your Holy Spirit, pour out the abundance of your blessing upon Samantha and Shawn. Defend them from every enemy. Lead them into all peace. Let their love for each other be a seal upon their hearts, a mantle about their shoulders, and a crown upon their foreheads. Bless them in their work and in their companionship; in their sleeping and in their waking; in their joys and in their sorrows; in their life and in their death. Finally, in your mercy, bring them to that table where your saints feast for ever in your heavenly home; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

It was all very stunning! Congratulations and be blessed.
I love your photographer's style.
We were "there" in 1997 -- he graduated med school and off to residency. Where are you headed?

Ann - So I assume you were formerly a Snyder? Yes, sometime during the 60's the top sanctuary was built and the pastor was Eugene Figgie, who is now Secretary of the District Board of Kentucky. Now, my father-inlaw is pastor, Rick Graybill. As for Ken Walker, I don't know him personally, BUT his first cousin and aunt still are active members.
Shellie - We're going to the University of Arkansas for Internal Medicine. The plan is to go on and do Hematology/Oncology after residency, but where I will do the fellowship, I won't know for two or three years.

You will probably meet Jack Sternberg, an oncologist, while in LR.

Wow! Such a life ahead of you guys! The Lord is going to bless you both. I'm really excited for you.
We've finished almost 46 years together, There've been some bumps in the road but it is exciting to look back and see how He has led us.
Have many doctor friends, Lots of fun stories about them.
For instance, using a stethescope to solve a mission station water problem.
"Emergency in the morgue" while one was doing an emergency surgery.
Patient had a knife plunging into his head just below the eye. Surgeon says the guy came in complaining of a stabbing pain below the eye.
Got to know his patient well - put me in traction for 15 weeks - but saved the leg.
You will have an interesting but rewarding life.
Two rules for marriage:
Divorce is not an option.
Marriage is a full-time job.
Love to you guys.

Keep the fellowships in the back of your mind which will allow you to go to Africa, etc. Several have done that and accepted a call from The Lord. I know Reader's Digest has fellowships.

Really envious of you guys.
I have taken 5 groups of students to Belize.
Two special places:
Crooked Tree
Sartaneha
Crooked Tree has a house and clinic which the CofN abandoned many years ago. The buildings still stand. Beautiful location! Wonderful people! Would be a place to pray and listen to what Jesus has to say.
Sarteneha on the extreme northeast of Belize has a wonderful pastor, if he is still living. Pastor John is an amazing Pastor. A student and I stayed in his home for a few days. Great experience. They had running water - out of one faucet about 1 1/2 feet above the floor. Kept a rag under the faucet to catch the drips. That's where we got our bath water. Sartaneha gets it's water from the sea - thanks to the Israelis. There is a hotel in Sartaneha.
Pastor John built the church and became the pastor. He later was ordained.
If you hang around he will schedule a church service so the people can meet you. The church is pretty much the center of activity for Sartaneha.
In Belize City you should look up Dwight Tillett. Give him our regards.

Texarkana - lived there.
Did you know the Whitlocks? He was a blind piano tuner. They had a daughter Loraine who married Ivan Kounter.
My sister was in their wedding. We drove from Ardmore, OK to Texarkana for the wedding. After the wedding we took the bride and groom from Texarkana to Lake Murray in Oklahoma. Ardmore is near Lake Murray. Can you imagine the bride, groom and four others in a 1941 Ford two door? This is many years ago.
Ivan and Loraine were talking about what they had with them in their suitcases. Loraine realized she didn't have negligie, etc with her. Ivan said that would be ok - he had an extra pair of pajamas.
Then in 1968 I had Ivan and Loraine's daughter in Calculus III class at SNU.
Small world, eh?

Congratulations to you and your beautiful bride.
We got home from Tennessee campmeeting today. Several times we sat at a table with the Beals that had been missionaries to Belize. Her niece is the person that writes 7th Heaven. I guess that is where you feel like you are right now.
So wonderful that the precious holy Spirit was in attendance at your wedding.

Congratulations! I wrote this yesterday, but it does not show up on the forum.
The Beals, retired missionaries from Belize were at the Tennessee Campmeeting. We had a lot of fellowship time with them. Her niece writes 7th Heaven.
Sorry, I finally found my post of yesterday. I still have a hard time with this new system.
