I've put a few ideas together for Trinity Sunday. One thing we're going to do at the start during the call to worship is to have three candles on the Altar and have three different people come forward read a line giving thanks to each member of the God head in turn with an appropriate congregational response before each candle is lighted........

What are you planning to do during this service?

I only do a Trinity Sunday celebration about once every 3-4 years...

This year I decided to do one. I'm going to offer a brief homily... and then we'll read a scripture lesson about each member of the Godhead and sing a related song. We'll also recite the creed and receive communion. So it will be mostly scripture and song.

Does anyone have any good Trinity artwork that would be suitable for a powerpoint image during the service?

I'll let you know after I see what our Data Projector people have prepared for our service tomorrow........

One lady searches far and wide on line for artworks and often comes up with some good presentations.

On the Altar as well as the candles, I'm placing a Kettle, an ice tray and a glass water bottle to symbolise the various forms of water. Also I intend to liberally scatter lots of clover leaves around the front of the church, again reminding the congregation of the Triune nature of God.

This is too late, I know, but maybe you can file this one (http://www.creationswap.com/media/8781) away for another time.

Ryan, that's the symbol that was the background of our data displays, but a different colour though.

This was used on Trinity Sunday, although the altar paraments, pulpit and lectern falls, and clergy vestments were white. It will remain until Advent, with the exceptions of All Saints' Day and Christ the King Sunday.

Thanks Edith, we too wear vestments on occassions. I wear a white Alb, but only have the Uniting Church Stole which is blue with the UC logo upon it. Some of our other ministers have seasonal stoles; one day I'll get around to asking mum to run a few up for me.....
