These are two new items here in Canada on the market...probably not new elsewhere but they are really, really good!

1) is the new Tim Hortons breakfast sandwich. It is a large toasted biscuit with round sausage or strips of bacon (whichever you prefer) on a round egg with cheese. $2.49 but delicious!! and better than egg mcmuffin.

2) This is a new item on the market put out by Ben's Bread. It is like cooked pizza dough or pita bread with a pocket in it. You simple fill the pocket with egg, or veggies or even sandwich spread. You can cut to whatever size you want. Great for a work lunch. This may not be new in the USA?

Anyways, there is always some new food item to take your attention and make you put on pounds! :basic05

Do you want to know something weird Bob? About two months ago I was drinking a cup of Tim Horton's coffee and suddenly STOPPED ENJOYING IT. I became aware of a subtle flavour that I didn't like. I haven't been able to drink a cup since.

I still drink coffee on occasion when I am at a restaurant or from the caf at work. But without my dependance on Timmy, my consumption has dropped dramatically.

I have never suddenly "turned off" of any food or drink in ths way. I don't know what caused it.

The breakfast sandwich looks good though.

CONVICTION!

Money that can be spent more wisely elsewhere!

All joking aside, I don't know why I drink Tim's either. I think it is extremely strong coffee. But they do make an awesome ice cap...

I don't drink as much in the summer, coffee that is..

Looks and sounds good!

There's a new Tim Horton's in Dayton - where we are presently staying with our three oldest grandkids will have to try it.

Barbara,

Hmmm....I don't know what to say, other than it is strong coffee at some places. I think it is the outlet brewing it, myself. We have about 8 outlets in a small area here in this county and all seem to brew their coffee differently.

I buy the Tim Hortons packets of coffee rather than in the tin. I seems much fresher and I can make it the way I like it...not too strong. You will notice they use the same bags or packets in the Tim Hortons outlets. Try them...6 packets for around $4 or $5 dollars. One packet make 3-4 coffee maker glass containers. It is much better that way so you can lighten up the stronger taste. I don't buy much in the drive-thru's for the same reason above!

Looking at that breakfast sandwich - is it possible (Oh, say it isn't so!!) that Tim's somehow got hold of a (you'll pardon the expression) Sausage McMUffin?

I love breakfast sandwiches any time of the day. I tell the gal at Burger King that if they can make a Whopper for breakfast, why can't they make a breakfast sandwich at supper?

Makes sense to me.

We have both of those things at WalMart, but not the same brands.

Nearly midnight and now I want to eat. Shame on you.

John,

Nope, Tim's sandwich is made out of a tea biscuit...not a muffin, and even the egg is different...white and yolk is mixed. (like liquid egg product) Not even close in taste, these are much richer, like pastry.

McMuffin, white and yolk is separated...how do they do that anyways?

Yep! I agree. Burger King is my favorite here...but I have to drive 40 minutes to get to one!!

Barb, you will have to go to Subway Sandwiches to get a breakfast sandwich in the middle of the afternoon or evening! That's what I like about Subway. Ahhh! All that bread is making me feel heavy even now!

Did you know they have a new Subway sandwich?

John has had the Tuscan Chicken.

We have a Subway in our WalMart, so we often start our grocery shopping with a sandwich from Subway.

Did you know that the Italian BMT means "Boston Mass Transit?" Get the connection...subway: Mass transit

When I asked what BMT stood for I thought the gal was joking with me. But it is true. Is it one of their original sandwiches.

Did Subway start in Boston?

yes, i've tried that Timmy's breakfast sandwich a couple of times... it *is* really good!

that, and either an iced capp or a cafe' mocha (depending on the weather) does a morning good :D

not at ALL like an egg mcmuffin .. totally different taste.
