View Full Version : If I could freeze time right now

I think I would be tempted to do it. Just for a little while.

I am 46 and content. My husband and I are at a good stage in our marriage. Familiarity and security but still passion.

My daughters are starting to make their way in the world and I am so proud of the way they are coping with what comes their way.

I love my job...never enjoyed work as much.

I love our little church....where we feel loved and safe.

Yep...I would like to freeze time for awhile and just enjoy this moment. :)

That is so sweet to read, Barbara. What a nice thing to say about your family!! I know what you mean. I love my life the way it is now. (I could use a little less mess in the house with all this redecorating, but this too shall pass!!). That was such a neat post, Barbara -- thanks for posting it! And you know, I pray that we'll always feel such contentment.

Barbara,

I don't know if I've ever felt that way...but I sure hope too someday. I feel like my life is forever changing or needing to change.

What a sweet thing to say about your life right now. I pray your happiness continues.

Barbara, how is it today? If I make a guess I would say still good.

I'm not Barbara, but I responded to her post in November 2005. My how things have changed since then. But life is still good. Heart attacks and heart surgery have a way of drawing a family closer together......at least in our case.

Barbara???

I admit I have been going waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the archive today. Some stuff is still food for thought

Yes, I've noticed we've been digging out some old posts. That's kind of a neat feature with this software, that posts don't disappear.

I'm still in a good place. Since I made this post in September 2005 my daughter Lindsay has finished University. She has a good job now.

My youngest is entering her fourth year of university and has done really well.

My husband and I just celebreated our 25th.

I still love my church and now one of my friends from that church is part of NazNet (Laurie Florence).

I still love my work at the hospital.

The only downer is that time didn't freeze. I am turning 49 in August which means next year is a big one. :) However, the other day I met someone I hadn't seen in 25 years and she said that I had hardly aged at all. Maybe she was on medication LOL

I must admit that I didn't read the date of the post. So my first thought (sorry in advance) was that Barbara is lying about her age cause I know that she was born the same day and year as my husband! And I almost stopped reading the post to go verify this. Glad I waited until I had read the whole thread or I would have spun my wheels and looked really really silly. Course that wouldn't be the first time for either.

So far I can see that all the places my life has been are good places. So I don't know that I would want to freeze any of it cause I expect the next places to be good also.

It's funny but my age is one thing I've never been tempted to lie about. I've never understood that "...don't ask a women her age..." thing.

My age is what it is.

The only thing that I sometimes think about is that my mom died at 57. When I was in my 20's, that seemed really, really old. Now it seems like it is just around the corner. And now it seems like she died young.

Perspective.

She might not be on medication, but bear in mind that her eyes are 25 years older than they were the last time she saw you. :basic03

You know, that was the only GOOD thing about having heart surgery -- everyone I met kept saying "wow, you're so young." HA HA HA HA I can laugh at it now, of course........and every time it comes up STILL, I get the same reaction "wow, you're so YOUNG."

Oh well, we take the compliments where we can get them, what can I say? HA HA HA :basic05

If I could freeze time, I would freeze this day. I am loving my new job. My husband and I can car pool together, so we spend lots of time talking (it's a 50 minute ride).

Plus, today is our 20th wedding anniversary. On the way home, Mark said he needed to drop off to pick something up. I thought it was probably a car part or a tool or something. He pulled up in front of a jewellry store. I was thinking, "no, this couldn't be". He turned to me and said "I want to buy you some pearls to celebrate our anniversary". So, we picked out a pearl necklace, and he added a pair of pearl earrings as well. It was so romantic.

This has to have been one of the happiest days of my life.:)

Barbara: My mother died of cancer at age 59 when I was in my 20's too. I know what you are saying. Now I am past that age and all my siblings are also except for the baby of the family (8 children all together). It's a great place to be thankful for the blessing of good health. I just recently lost my oldest brother unexpectedly, and we were noting that he would get to see mother first and tell on us. :) Thanks for the post and the update!!
