What appointment reminder program do you Window's users use?
I need a program that pops up to remind me of dental appointments, haircuts, the undertaker, etc.
Anyone?
thanx

At first, I thought it said "underwear" - but "undertaker" is bad enough!
A good online program is Remember the Milk: http://www.rememberthemilk.com

My computer comes with Works which has a calendar on it that what you are describing. But, I found it made my computer start up very slowly.

I've used Outlook for a decade ... yes, its's not free.
However - it manages calendar, contacts, tasks, and other things ... in an integrated manner.
For example, I drag an e-mail meeting reminder to the calendar icon to put it on my calendar.
AND it synchronizes with certain smartphone (e.g., Blackberry) so I don't have to be at my desk to be reminded.
I began using it long ago as a corporate mandate, but now that I'm retired, I still haven't found anything to compare.
(I did try some other free candidates a little over a year ago, and still chose to uninstall them and purchase Outlook)

Outlook (the full version, not express.) I use an add on from franklin covey called Plan Plus for Outlook. It makes use of FC's mission/roles/goals, weekly compass, and prioritized daily task list. It integrates seamlessly into Outlook and syncs beautifully with my windows mobile phone. Wow, I should be on commission.

Another Outlook user here. I use Outlook 2003. Meshes flawlessly with my Palm Treo. Manages Contacts, Calender, Notes, etc. very well.

You'll need the full version of Outlook 2007 or 2010 with Win7. Both are part of their related MS Office Suites. 2010 is mind blowing in how connected it can be.

I have windows 7 as well and really miss my outlook express. I have Word 2007 and Works. Just to be clear, are you saying that if I pay X amount of money, I can buy a program to put outlook on my computer? And if so, what is the full title of it? Is it a part of MS Word or is it something else?

Would Google Calendar work for you? It's free (and online). I don't think it does pop-up windows, but you could always keep it open. Or, if you have a cell phone with texting, I bet it could text you a reminder.

I use Google calendar. It works on my mac, my pc, my phone and/or anywhere else I can get a browser.

google calendar -- and outlook. I manage my personal calendar with google and my work calendar with outlook. There is a google tool that actually syncs the two. I get my outlook calendar via my phone so everything is eventually driven through that. Google calendar will pop up a reminder.... it can also email you reminders. I get enough reminders that I only have a few problems getting it all sync'd up. My biggest problem is figuring out what time it is somewhere where something is supposed to happen. Right now my phone says it is 10pm and my laptop is still saying 4pm -- so it really gets weird depending on which one is sending me the reminder....
