After a wonderful time in Australia, meeting Roland Hearn, Steve Walsh, Jon & Jill Dennis and Erik Groeneveld, my former pastor who is studying there, I'm now on my way home, waiting in Singapore for my flight to Amsterdam, which is about to board. I long to be home, but I'm flying home with much gratitude. I've been blessed. Just another 13 hours flying and 1 hour by train!

Wow, I'm impressed. It took us 8 hours of flying to get from NJ to California.

Schiphol Amsterdam Airport is in the top 5 of European airports when it comes to size, and especially, international connections. So we're fortunate, you can get to many destinations directly from Schiphol. In this case, Amsterdam - Brisbane was only one plane change, at Singapore, and it is pretty much a straight line on the map. Lay over was 4 hours, not so bad either.
And there is a regular train station there, not a ridiculously expensive special line. Which actually takes me directly to Dordrecht.

So the total trip was as follows (times in CEST): Leaving for the airport from Roland's place and having coffee with Erik and Roland near the airport, 02:15, departure 06:30 Brisbane, arrival Singapore 14:30, leaving Singapore 18:00, arriving in Amsterdam 06:45 next day, arriving at Dordrecht Central Station 08:00, home at 08:15. So all in all a 30 hour journey. Could have been shorter if we had not included the meeting with Erik and Roland.
