when we sometimes had cottage prayer meeting out in people's yards in the summer? It was cooler that way in the summer. Back then, the ladies were called "Mother's in Zion," and people were "pulling on the horns of the altars,"--so to speak. The second church Dwayne pastored was started in a "Brush Arbor" many years before we were there.
Maybe others will be able to add to some of these thoughts.

wonderful memories of cottage prayer meetings.
The last revival we had in our last pastorate we had cottage prayer meetings in the homes of our shut ins. 3 of them passed away within 6 weeks of each other after that revival.
What precious memories of those dear saints.

Our church has "Hot August Nights" at the home of one of our members. Their yard is like a park (about 2 acres) and we have August Sunday evening services with something to eat afterwards. Works quite well.
