View Full Version : "Satisfied"

All my life-long I had panted
For a drink from some cool spring -
That I hoped would quench the burning
Of the thirst I felt within.

Refrain
Hallelujah! I have found Him -
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings
Through His blood I now am saved.

Verse 2
Feeding on the husks around me
Till my strength was almost gone,
Longed my soul for something better,
Only still to hunger on.

Verse 3
Poor I was, and sought for riches,
Something that would satisfy;
But the dust I gathered round me
Only mocked my soul's sad cry.

Verse 4
Well of water, ever springing,
Bread of life, so rich and free,
Untold wealth that never faileth,
My Redeemer is to me.

Nelson,

That's a wonderful song. Right next to it in the hymnal is one of my all-time favorites. It's in the same key as Satisfied, and yet the editors did not see their way clear to make a "worship sequence" of the two songs. When I was pastoring and/or leading worship, I did so frequently...you just can't NOT do it.

O I have found it, the Crystal Fountain
Where all my life's deep needs have been supplied;
So freely flowing, from Calvary's mountain,
And now my soul is fully satisfied.

Nelson,

Is that a Rock Creek photo? If not, it sure looks like it. If so, I spent many happy hours there....

YEP!
Took it yesterday - while fishing there - I LOVE that place - every season of the year it is spectacular.

I've often wondered, just how did THAT happen in almost 100% flat Kankakee County.
