Upcoming Travel Plans

I leave Sunday afternoon for a one-week vacation.

We'll overnight in West Lafayette, IN (by Purdue) then Monday through Wednesday we'll be staying in a lodge in the Natural Bridge State Park in Kentucky. There will be nearly 50 other relatives (my mom's side) there for a Monday night "reunion fellowship supper," a Tuesday afternoon 50th anniversary celebration for an aunt and uncle, and a Wed. morning Baby Shower for a cousin.

Wednesday we drive back home and sleep in our own beds getting up early the next morning and heading in the other direction. We will be going to Oshkosh, WI until Sunday for "Lifest 2006" a huge multi-group 4-day Christian Concert Festival. I hope this doesn't make anyone too jealous. (In all honesty, the festival is not much my thing so the rest of my family will spend most of the time there and during the day I'll find other things to do.)

Enjoy your vacation. This week - starting tomorrow, through Sunday - is CREATION 2006, in south-central PA. Imagine a great big field, 30,000 teenagers, loud contemporary Christian music, no showers, and two porta-potties for all to share. That's a slight exaggeration, but you get the picture. This takes place about thirty minutes from the state park where I serve as a chaplain.

If Lifest 2006 is anything like Creation, I don't envy you, Wilson...I feel sorry for you. :) Enjoy it for both of us, okay?

I suspect this is probably correct. There are a lot of Moms and Dads there who "are only there because the kids want to go". Yeah, right!:basic03
