around in my mind. I would like to do a book sometime on all the controversial writings that have been written. I suppose some of Jesus' sayings would be controversal to some. Do any of you remember any others? Were the writings of Thomas Paine controversal? How about Darwin, or Stalin? I have heard some that say the writings of Wesley saved England from a revolution.
I also was thinking of the old saying, "the pen is mightier than the sword!"

It would be interesting to compile a list of ideas that were controversial at one time but are now common knowledge.

There are some who say that a revolution in England was averted because the 'ignorant masses' got religion instead of overthrowing the government. Karl Marx would heartily agree that Wesley was a suitable 'opiate' for the time.
