Last Monday, while we were on vacation, our son Edwin passed his final exam, the presentation of his second and last 6 months intership. The grade (7.5 out of 10) will have to be approved by a examination committee and the final graduation ceremony will be in September, but these are merely formalities. He finished college and is now "Bachelor of Information Technology".
He already has a job, so things look pretty good for him. Of course I'll post pictures in September!
Needless to say we are very happy with the results. After graduating from highschool, he took a year off to do all kinds of jobs, which turned out to be both low paid and even lower regarding their challange. But he had no idea what to do regarding an education! We didn't push him, these are the kinds of decisions a child has to make on its own, though of course we gave any advice we could.
Thankfully, after that year he applied for a college and now he finished it. And we're very happy about that!

Cool! Tell him congratulations for me. I really like Edwin. It was wonderful to get to spend some time with him last year. I'm so glad he went with us on our whirlwind tour of London.
Love,
Brad

Great news, Hans. I'm glad for him.
An Olivet (Nazarene University) recruiter once told us that kids who lay out during their college years seldom come back. They get a job, a car payment, and/or enter a romantic relationship and aren't ready to give those things up when it's time to go back to school. I'm glad that Edwin figured out what he wanted to do and had the motivation to do it.
Congratulations to all.
Marsha

Ah! Then we should be glad he neither got a good job, a car nor a romantic relationship during that year!
So far, no car or relationship yet, but he did get his driver's license.
