Our daughter Marjo gets a puppy coming Sunday, it is a Golden Retreiver. She was born on the 29th of April 2006. Here (http://home.sprightlygoldens.nl/engels/indexengels.htm) is a website dedicated to the birth of the pup and her 2 sisters. Jeroen and Marjo will get the lightests one, colourwize. She's called Sarah.
Now my question is, if your daughter gets a child, it is called a grandchild, right? So are we now getting a grand-dog? :basic03

Awww ... you're right, Hans! You're now "grand-daddy" to a (very cute, cuddly little) "grand-puppy." Just ask my ma ... she probably won't admit that she says, "Come see Grandma" to my Sasha.
So, sometimes you get grand-puppies before you get grandkids. Enjoy! ;)

So we visited our "grand fur-kid" today. Here's a picture of Sarah who actually isn't so small anymore. She's almost 20 pounds already!

Hans, I was just reading an article the other day about how some European breeders are breeding for the lighter color and white golden retrievers (some call it platinum blond) -- is Sarah really all white? She is beautiful!

Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A dog is wonderful! They can detect our moods, lick our wounds, play endlessly, etc...............................
If you need a sitter for the dog - just bring her by! No charge!!!!!!!!!!

She's not all white, though she definitely is very light, lighter than her 2 sisters. But the picture was with flash, so that lightened her up.
This is a picture without flash.

She IS very light. You will have to keep us updated with pictures now and then! She is just an adorable puppy and very healthy looking. By the looks of the size of her feet, she will be a pretty big golden!!!

Yes, so the breeder told Marjo too. Also, she told that Sarah will have the colour of her ears. And if you look closely, you'll see the top of her back is a little darker too.

Of course, we named Ebony because of the blackness of her coat..........
Now she is very light and people question us as to why we named her Ebony!!! HA HA

... if your dog if your ma's grandpuppy ... and your mom has a dog, who's her "kid," since you're her kid, is that dog a sister!? HA!
Well, Sasha's ma's grandpuppy (nearly 11 yrs old, & 50+#, but still my "puppy"] ... so, is Ginger my "sister"? Naw ................
It's just kids & grandkids that we make of our dogs; not siblings!! Help us! ;)

For those that are interested: Marjo maintains a web-log (http://lovelysarah.web-log.nl/) for Sarah! It's actually quite funny, she really has a way of writing stuff.
Now the bad news is, it is all in Dutch (Sarah barks in Dutch, of course :basic03 ), the good news is, there are lots of pictures that you can click on to enlarge.

It actually says:
Hi, I am Sarah! I am a true Golden Retriever and I was born on 29 April 2006, therefore I am still only a puppy. Since 2 July 06 I have been living with Jeroen and Marjo and I have been through all kinds of events. Nice ones, but also some less nice ones. You can read all my tales here on this weblog. Enjoy reading and do leave a message! A paw from Sarah.

LOL -- that's not a whole lot better than Marjo's Dutch one!! That is cute. (I did read Hans's translation -- it was just a wee bit clearer, don't you think? LOL)
