A long time ago I read a poem that spoke of the whole earth being filled with God's glory and every common bush on fire. But that only those who see take off their shoes. The rest sit around and pick blackberries.

It was in a wonderful book of poetry that I have since lost, and I am 95% sure it was Elizabeth Barrett Browning who wrote these words.

But I can't find it, even on websites that have all of her works.

So I wonder if I am remembering the poet wrong.

Anyway, if it rings a bell with anyone, perhaps they could let me know where I could find it.

LOL...just after I posted this, I typed the phrase "every common bush" in Google. I got what I was looking for.

Earth’s crammed with heaven,

And every common bush afire with God;

But only he who sees takes off his shoes;

The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries
