Does anybody have a PP slide reminding people to turn off their cell phones? I saw something like that at the movies the other day and thought it would be a good idea to run with the announcemnts at church.

This isn't exactly what you're looking for... and I'm sure there is better out there... but I took a slide I found on Naznet and edited it a bit to make it suitable for a cell phone announcement. Just add in the text you want (however polite or direct as you like).

Here are a couple more slides. Second one is a freebie from another web site, sorry I don't know the web site or I would give credit.

Silence children under four? Wow! I can't imagine telling that to a congregation. I could imagine telling those over four (or 40 for that matter) to quit coming in and out of the sanctuary half a dozen times... Is there a powerpoint slide for that? I could sure use it. I know, five minutes before service starts: "Worship begins in 5 minutes... go to the bathroom, or get your drink of water NOW"

More on that "Please be Courteous" slide... Did you make that one Bob? If so, do you have the capability to edit it with just mention of cell phone? Pagers are pretty much extinct around here, and as for the noise of 4 year olds, well, my problem is more with the 14 to 40 year olds.

Yes, quite agree with the silencing children, can't imagine doing that! Notice the button up lip! (grin)

It is not my slide but from another person or web site? I think it came from here that someone posted but a much older slide. Yes, probably could change it to just read cell phone and I can do that with a paint program. Give me a bit of time!

I can't find it on the computer I'm working on right now, but at my last church we had a slide that gave the phone number for Pizza Hut stating that if your cell phone went off during the service, you had to buy everyone pizza. Obviously just a joke, but a good reminder.

That's good. :) I'd like to see that slide if you can find it.

If most parents could magically "silence" their toddlers, they would be a lot less stressed than they are.

Putting living, breathing, sentient children in the same announcement as the one about electronic devices, with the implication that you can silence them with the same success is rather insulting I think.

I was never able to find the "silent mode" button on my children.

Words of discipline in a foreign language that no one around will understand (except the children) works wonders. :basic05

Here's some that I've used.
