Chicago!
Every time I/we go there I am further impressed. For being one of the USA's largest cities it sure does a bang up job keeping the place spiffy and looking nice.
These huge flowering pots line Michigan Avenue and are beautiful.
Ever so often we take the train to Michigan & Randolph (takes about an hour) and walk or take a cab or one of the free trolleys - what a great city it is.

And Nelson...
while those flowers behind you in the pic are beautiful, I've gotta tell you...
When we passed through Chicago in June, going from Midway airport to some little state... Michigan, I think it was....
we saw a lot of the state flower of Illinois along the freeways there in Chicago.
Namely the orange traffic cone (flower).
Will they EVER get the roadways built?

I'm certain that every city in the USA has a Michigan Avenue. It may very well run all the way across the country. Just shows how special the state of Michigan is to the rest of the country.

I'd be pretty surprised if Columbus, Ohio has a Michigan Avenue.

Oh my dear friend from that state to the south, prepare to be surprised.
Google it!!! It's there.
On the other hand, rest assured that there is NO Ohio Avenue in Ann Arbor, Michigan or Lansing for that matter. I guess we are a bit more particular when naming streets.

Nelson, it is a great city! They do a wonderful job of keeping it beautiful and there are many free things for tourists. I do love that city!
My most recent visit to Chicago was this past winter and it was COLD. My feet froze while waiting for a taxi at the airport and I even had on snowboots. Just walking outside literally took my breath away. It was a wonderful visit to that fair city even if I did spend a great deal of time in the 'burbs.' People in Chicago area eat out every night of the week it seems. Shopping centers had 'nary' a parking place available on Friday and Sunday nights and made Dallas look like an empty skating rink by comparison. :) All in all, it was a GREAT visit and was spectacular from the air at night - both landing and take off.
Beautiful! You are blessed to live so close to the Windy City.
Continued blessings,

We had lunch at a Bennigans, MICHIGAN GO BLUE!!! Avenue, :) and since I'd read the new Trump Tower is now under construction we walked those 2-3 blocks north to Wacker Drive.
Check this picture, please.
Please note the cleanliness of the street! It is an amazing place. This has got to be one of the busiest areas of downtown Chicago - Michigan and Wacker, right at the Chicago River - yet someone is keeping it very, very clean.
Really in reality (I hate when people say that) I was taking a picture of that modern art across the street. That's the Trump Tower far left.
Yep. We love going to Chicago.
BTDT many times. It's a FAB city.

Yes, even out in Phoenix there was such a road.
