The talk was about Jesus..with the story in Luke 7
where He raised the wodow's son from the dead.

Then our minister went on to relate
how Jesus healed, raised the dead, and this same Jesus is here today,
amongst us..he then said tho he has not witnessed someone raised from
the dead..that he can testify he has been healed.
He went on to relate when he and his wife and another couple were
deep in Mexico and their auto was hit by a drunk Mexican driver. He sufffered from internal bleeding and a collapse of the lungs on the rt side. He knew without immeadiate attention (which there was none) that he was dying. He could not breathe and could litteraly feel his life slipping away. . Someone laid their hand on his chest and said, "Jesus breathe your life into his lungs and spare his life" He spent time in a scary hospital in Mexico, and did live to declare the praises of the Lord.

As he was relating this story, suddenly a mother carrying a small child (about age two) came running to the front and asked if he would believe and pray for her little daughter to be healed. The mother was obviously desperate. The child has cancer to the pancreas. Several of those in the congregation were consummed with compassion and rushed up to also lay hands and pray for this child.

Is this not what would have happened 2000 years ago when Jesus walked this earth in the flesh?? desparate parents interupted the flow of the day begging for a touch from the Master.

Today was an unusual service..as i mentioned, Jesus was there...one could tangibly feel the sweet, sweet presence of the Lord

Jesus is still healing sick people. That's part of who he is. Would have been nice to be in that service.

Hi Paul
Your having served on the mission field..this is probably something you have experienced first hand.
I attend a non denom church (Bridgeway Church on Broadway Ext. Just in case you want to drop in sometime) that believes in all of the above..and has calls for those who are sick to come forth for healing prayer, and they do..do come usualy at the close of the service for healing prayer. We also have a time for healing prayer prior to time for worship.
It was just the desparaton of this precious mother..(nearly mimicking the desparation of those in Galali) that changed the order of the service today allowing the Holy Spirit to come in a beautiful manner. Refreshing and at the same time revealing our inadequacies when programs (or specfic times for healing prayer) want to rule the order of the service. I am glad to be part of a place where we are open to the move of the Holy Spirit, and welcomed His rearrangment of our service.

Judy
and in case you are wondering...this is not a charismatic congregation..
although there are those among us who have the beauty of a prayer language.. however this is not the tenor or focus of our congregation, and you will not have a message in tongues spoken in this church. Been there near seven years and has not to date occurred. .. God works His miracles among us..and praise God some days He works His miracles in and around our programs and the set order of the service ...is ..reset

Thanks for your comment Paul
are we not each one of us so very blessed to be a part of this great family of Believers.??!!

So, was the child healed? If you don't know yet, it would be nice to hear a follow-up report when you do.

Jesus has been healing several friends and family members in the recent past.. It has nothing to do what we do, other than praying - that's all - just praying and believing.

Hi Brad
I feel the excitment behind this tread is that we as a people were willing
to allow a change in the order of the service..and God smiled on our ability to
to lay down our agenda and allow Him to reroute our service.

At the same time i was so very blessed by this mother..who was
willing to be a fool, come to Christ..in a sea of stangers.
She does not attend worship in this church..and will she come again??
I cannot answer this question

How many of us would try to touch the "Hem of His grament"
were the Bible story of the
woman with years of hemorrage translated into todays' venacular??

Today I saw a woman reach out to touch the
hem of Christ's garment..in faith

Well, I imagine lots of us, if we were seeing people actually being healed. Not many of us, if services like that didn't actually result in healing. The Gospels say that everyone who came to Him was healed. So, naturally, lots of people came to him. They didn't just crowd around him out of blind, arbitrary confidence; they crowded around him because they were seeing people being healed right and left.

I believe in real, physical, supernatural healing. I've witnessed it. You didn't actually answer my question, but your response sounds like you don't think it actually matters.

Fair enough. Thanks. Do let us know, though, if she does return with a positive report. That would indeed be wonderful (and not unprecedented).
