Just wondering what sort of small groups people have recently done and really enjoyed. We planning to start a new group shortly, if we can get everything lined up. The exciting thing is that it will primarily consist of a number of new people to our church--and people who actually live in our town. (A lot of my congregation drives in from quite a distance!)

Looking for an 8-10 week course... it could be video driven, book study, or Bible study.

You have probably heard of The Kingdom Experiment (http://www.thehousestudio.com/wp/product/kingdom-experiment/) put out by House Studio. There is also the Sinai Experiment (http://www.thehousestudio.com/wp/product/sinai-experiment/) (written by Ryan Scott) and Mosaic Experiment (http://www.thehousestudio.com/wp/product/mosaic-experiment/).

These are all 8-10 week discussion group books. They might not fit your context, but they might. We started going through Kingdom Experiment last week in our small group. I'm excited for the conversations coming up.

I'm looking forward to The Song of Solomon Experiment. ;)

Anyone used the "Not A Fan" Small group curriculum?

It's not exactly my cup of tea, but the people of our congregation really enjoyed The Covenant that NPH put out. It has video lessons and a book to follow and walks people through the OT covenant ceremony and the parallels in the NT.

Again, it's not flashy and may be a bit more appropriate for people with a church background. I wouldn't always phrase things the way he does, but I don't have a problem with the theology. It's written by Jim Garlow (who also does the video sessions) - he's a Wesleyan pastor.

I actually used "The Covenant" with another group a few months back. Definitely better for people with a church background, as you said. And it flowed well for the people in my church who have studied a lot of Ray VanderLaan with me.

Now I'm looking at Keller's "Prodigal God." Not exactly Wesleyan... but he's already hooked me, because I preached a sermon several years back entitled "The Prodigal Father." :)

House Studio has several, many of them already mentioned. In addition to the ones mentioned, I have reviewed Sunday Asylum and the one by Brueggemann on Lament in the Psalms. I thought both were excellent. They also have "Economy of Enough" but that is my least favorite depending on setting (with certain groups, I would really love to go through it).
