How far have you walked to church?

Sometimes across a lot between parsonage and church, sometimes several blocks but the preacher's family always had to be there at least a half hour before the beginning of the services.

Never been close enough to walk . Streetcar in Toronto then streetcar and bus in Ottawa till we got a car . Took about an hour to get there , some 9 or 10 miles and one transfer with Sunday infrequent schedule . Growing up we at church an hour early as the streetcars ran only every hour and there was chance we could be late a couple minutes if we took the later one . Church now is 11 miles away.

Our church is 1.7 miles from our house, so I have walked it MANY times....When it gets dark a little bit later, I walk home from Sunday evening Bible study as much as possible....it's a great walk!!! Love living so close!!!

Growing up, we were less than half a mile from church, so I walked that one many times, as well....living close to church is a blessing to us!!

Didn't walk to, but when a kid there was a family where I spent several Sunday afternoons and we did on rare occasion walk to their home (probably about this far, too) after instead of riding w/their folks. They lived on a farm a ways from church, so we played in their barn, etc, too.

I think the farthest was when we were in Antigua, Guatemala, for 6 weeks on summer. But we walked everywhere, because we had no vehicle. So it wasn't a big deal. And we would have measured it in blocks or time, not miles... but probably less than a mile.

In high school, we lived in one of the parsonages, which was basically a long block away... across the grass. Our backyard faced the back of the church, with a big field of grass in between used for soccer, etc.

When our car would not operate and we were plagued with unemployment the whole family walked 1 1/2 miles along a major thoroughfare to get to Boise First.
