They were doing that on TV two days ago. "Myth Busters" I believe was the show! It was amazing how high they were able to get the coke to go!

Yes, Nelson. I did it. It is fun. I tweaked it somewhat, however. I took a 2 liter and punched four ice pick size holes around the top, a couple of inches below the cap. I also put a small hole through the mentos, and ran a thread through them. I used about 8. I then put a hole in the cap, ran the thread through it. I poured out some of the coke to have enough room to put the cap back on without the mentos touching the coke. I was able, then, to drop all the mentos at one time into the Coke. The spew came through the small holes on the bottle and the one hole on the cap.

It was very funny.

It's reassuring, in these days when so many are absorbed with meaningless, trivial activities, to realize there are still those (a remnant, perhaps) who have a firm grasp of those things that have lasting import and significance.

Thanks, John. Sometimes it is not easy being a cutting-edge risk-taker. One sometimes wonders if he will regret breaking out of the routine in order to explore and tackle what might change history. Your post, however, makes my spending $3.00 for Coke and candy and devoting an evening pursuing excellence worth all my investment.
