Under what circumstances would "I never participate" be more than zero? It would require that a person not understand the question or that they lie.

I participate, sometimes, but much of the time the questions and choices are not well thought out enough to measure any true meaning in whatever subject they propose to try to find out about.

Come on - that is stretching it.

*smiles*

i haven't always formated the questions adquately - nor have others - but it isn't *much of the time*....

The secret is what I did as my last option - always include, "No answer applies" -- that lets folks participate without saying something they don't want to say. Although, in the case of this poll, I can't really imagine a serious "none apply."

Is this a trick question? I sense danger!

Ha! Only if you join me at number 3!

On a lot of the polls my exact opinion is not one of the answers so I choose the one closest to my opinion.

But you have to get up pretty early in the morning to beat Brad Mercer at funny, Scott. And after he moves to Australia, you'll have to get up the day before!

Brad's poll. (http://www.naznet.com/community/showthread.php?p=14210)

As long as we're copying, I'll sign off by saying,

I just want to be a blessing.

:p

Marsha

PS: It's still funny. Thanks for the smile.

PPS: My real answer falls closer to "always" than "sometimes" -- maybe "often;" not quite "usually".

If you've had to do much research for advanced degrees you might not have responded so. Most of the polls here are shallow at best; but each of us have an opinion.

I actually remembered that someone did something similar sometime back, but thought a lighthearted post would be a good thing. However, I did too good a job of wording it and it ended up more legit than I intended -- so Brad did outdo me in the wording part.

Perhaps you could have added another category:

"I simply choose to not indicate any of these five choices."

Well, there you go then. From now on, we should each finish out our poll designs with two final choices:

9. I want to participate in this poll but, even though the designer included every possible option, none of them fits my view. I will explain in a post to this thread.

10. I do not want to participate in this poll and, thus, will not be voting for any option whatsoever.

I'm glad we finally figured out the solution to the question of "other".

Then, Scott will have to reinstate the option to have ten choices instead of four...

*grins*

Oh! Never realized it was cut down to only four ... haven't tried creating one in ages ... think, in fact, I've only tried one here a long time ago. Not even sure what it was about anymore. ;) [have to do a search]
