(fiction/fantasy/Juvinile Fiction) I just happened to run across a book called Rothshield: Chasing Shadows by: James F. Morin. I read it and was so amazed by how good it honestly was. It's about a 12yr.old boy whose parents chase myths and legends around for a living. He thinks its ridiculous and asks to have a normal life. They send him to his father's childhood boarding school. There, because of something his father gave him, one of his friends is kidnapped by shadowy beings. Him and 2 of his new friends decide to go into Rothshield Woods and lots of adventure and great characters ensue. I think this is a great read and highly recommend it to anyone. It's kind of hard to find I know it’s at amazon. He also has a website Rothshield.net. It's pretty cool too.
The kids don't kill and have no special magical powers like the Harry Potter books. I would recommend this book to anybody 10+. It really shows that if friends stick together they can acomplish anything.:fav18
