Friday evening I took retired missionary, Dr. Al Jones, his son, Daniel and friend Dr. Ron Albright to a Boise Hawks Northwest League Baseball Playoff game here in Boise. The Jones are in the area to help celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Valley Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Meridian, ID. Dr. Jones pastored the church in the 60s and my dad pastored there in the early 20s so we will be together for that celebration today. The church is being pastored by former General Superintendent Dr. Jerald Johnson with associate pastor former Intermountain District Superintendent Dr. Ron Kratzer.

Dr. Johnson is our first GS to return to the pastorate, isn't he? Didn't he first go back to Germany to pastor?

General Superintendent Diehl told us at our district assembly that he had jokingly told Dr. Johnson that when he (Dr. Diehl) retires he would come on Dr. Johnson's staff as youth pastor!

Yes he did. He went to Frankfurt for a couple of years.

The Jones are some of my favorite peoples. Thank you so very much for posting.
