Last night Andrea and I went to see Robin Hood (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0955308) starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett and directed by Ridley Scott.

I really enjoyed the movie. It is not a typical Robin Hood movie, rather it shows how a common archer in the king's army became the outlaw Robin Hood.

The show had a good storyline that was well written. It included a great deal of action, a archetypal hero in Robin, beautiful cinematography, and some nice romance with Maid Marion.

There were strong supporting roles played by Max von Sydow, William Hurt, Oscar Isaac, and perhaps most notably Mark Strong as the traitor Godfrey.

Ridley Scott once again does his best to place his story in its appropriate historical context which I think makes for a much better movie in the log run because it makes it more believable. I enjoyed this movie very much and I can't wait to see what he'll do for a sequel.

I liked it very much. I watched Costner's back in the day over and over again, but this easily lived up to that one. Good flick.
