Now that I have seen what happened at the OU-UO game in Eugene I am appalled at the lack of integrity of the officials and would have been glad to have seen the Pac Ten Conference own up and hand the win to the Sooners. That would have maintained the conference integrity. Even the Duck players could see that it was a mess up. I agree with the Sportswriters who have advocated that the officials for football be members of regional association like the basketball officials are rather than hired by the conferences. Too much chance for bias when membership is tied to a conference rather than a regional association.
