What is everyone using for flash nowdays? On camera or bracket?

Anyone have studio units? What are you shooting and why?

I'm just curious...

I'll post my setup later.

Actually, I like to avoid flashing as much as I can. Never had a studio set, used have a good flash on top of the camera, but that one broke down (litterally) a couple of years ago. My D70 has a very simple build-in one that is enough for emergencies.

I'm still contemplating buying an SB-600 or a comparable Metz. My daughter asked me to shoot her wedding, and I'm probably going to regret it if I don't have a proper flash.

I've found that I don't need a flash as much with digital. Indoors average room seems to be enough most of the time and my white balance works really well. Outdoors digital isn't as contrasty so I rarely need fill flash. I do have to use the built in on camera flash once in a while. If I'm going to be in a dark place or shoot some serious photography I have a really good flash gun. Besides having more range, it has a helper beam for my auto focus that I can't do without in low light. I also don't get red eye as bad with a flash gun.

I used to have some studio floods but I haven't used them in many years and I gave them to my son-in-law who also likes photography.

I just use the built in flash on my automatic digital camera. Sometimes shut it off if I'm trying to get a shot of a light at night or something. Unfortunately, a casual photographer with an automated camera just can't get the effects of a moon between clouds between tree branches or the subtle effects of a distant airport beacon tracing a night sky that I would like to pull off.
