Not really new. My son and his wife have been married for 9 years and on Thursday Matthew (my youngest son) adopted his wife's son, Cody. So now Cody proudly tells everyone he is Cody Alexander GRANT. We are very happy with the adoption. Matt and his wife also have a daughter, Ashley, and she is glad that her older brother now has the same last name as she does.

congrats gramma ( :

how wonderful! just recently my 1st grandchild (Cheniya is 10 now) was officially adopted as a Jackson tho he has been her daddy since she was 18 months old. It's great when the whole family has the same name to them! as a side note, Cheniya and Taylor are the first Jackson girls born in 6 generations in the Jackson family! and in my side we have 5 generations of women!

What is that old saying that some grandfathers say? "Being a grandfather is great but being married to a grandma is something I never thought about." I am sure that is not the case here.

Very funny Jim, actually I heard the statement but it had the grandma and grandpa reversed. I guess it's all in who's doin' the tellin', the grandma or the grandpa, lol.
