That's what we are renting for the dog show weekend.
We actually own a Dodge Caravan that's much older......and I'm definitely keeping it!!
I don't like the new one. The only feature that I like about it is the fact that all the back seats fold down into the floor. That's it.
It has those power side sliding doors -- YUCK. They are cute the first couple of times you use them, then they become quite irritating. You have to have the car in "park" before they'll even work. If you try to work them manually they are quite hard to slide closed.
The seats are not comfortable.
The body style is not appealing to me.
It rides nice. And I like the seats folding down into the floor. Did I mention that?
Other than that -- I will keep my old version. It is paid for and I still enjoy driving it as much as I did the first day we bought it......yep.
Oh, and there's one more good thing about this 2007 version -- it only has 1500 miles on it......LOL
So, there's my review of the new 2007 Dodge Caravan......just in case anyone's interested!!!

You mentioned hard seats. We rented a new Nissan (sp?) Pathfinder for a trip last spring. It had lots of power and lots of luxury features...and the seats were are hard as a rock. I'd never buy one even if I could afford one.
I miss my old 91 Plymouth Grand Voyager. It had a lousy transmission and lousy headlights but it was comfortable. It was easy to work on and had plenty of power. It got around good in the snow and I could haul more in the back than many pickup trucks.

I think the sliding doors are nice with little kids. Your kids are older so they can slide the door themselves but when you are letting 4/5 years olds in/out of the van..its nice to push the button and not have to hop in/out all the time to "make sure the door is closed".
Not that I know from constant experience, but I've hauled around enough of my friend's kids to pick up on that. ;)

We drive Dodge and Plymoth vans all of the time. I hear they are going to stop making the Plymoth van, though. We use to have a nice Nissan van-years ago. They are very nice and dependable. We have our first one with sliding doors on both sides. We really enjoy it. It sort of seems, as if, you have a small room of the house with you.

Dana, I AM interested.... mainly because we own a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan "Stow 'n Go" with all those features. I really like the seats that fold into the floor. But you are sooo right about the comfort, especially the middle and back rows. I''m just glad that I don't have to ride back there. They are definitely not comfortable.
As for the power doors, I don't use them that often, but when my hands are full, they are very nice.
Oh, and the grandkids love to work them. The feature that makes them inoperative is important when little kids are present in the vehicle because they tend to want to push the buttons.
We like our vehicle overall, but the 2000 Grand Caravan that we owned was much more comfortable.
I think that we shall stick with ours, though.
Oh, yes, it is paid for!

My kids were 7 and 1 when we bought our van!! HA HA And actually, since you have to put little ones in a car seat anyway, sliding the door closed is not a problem. (There's a light that comes on if the door is not closed all the way, so that's not an issue, either). After using those doors all weekend, I can honestly say that I'd never buy a vehicle that had those as standard. But the stow-and-go seats? YEP!! I love them!!
