A beautiful bright fall day is a great time for a car show in Tennessee.
This is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone show a church bus at a car show. This one had quite a bit of work done on it. Neat idea!
You might call this a hybrid car. The front half is a Geo Storm and the back half is a Subaru Brat.
Really nice Cobra. I’m pretty sure it was built from a kit.
Remember dune buggys?
Another Cobra. This one is a Factory 5 model (not an original).
This 56 Ford was an interesting apricot and white two-tone. Unfortunately, the color got trashed in the sunlight.

This 39 LaSalle “Professional Car” was said to have an interesting history. One of 3 prototypes built for the 39 World’s Fair. 1 of the 3 has disappeared. The other was used and destroyed in the James Bond film “Dr. No”. The car was built for use as an ambulance or hearse.
Just your average every-day run-of-the-mill flip-front duck-tailed blown double-carbureted with headers into side pipes 20-inch wheeled Corvette.

Would you believe a street-rodded Essex?
1967 Shelby GT500, again it’s really red.
Another old Chevy.
A 1949 Nash. My parents had one of these prior to my birth. It was not remembered fondly.
A 1959 Thunderbird. The trunk lid is hinged at the back of the car, raises electrically and the top stows underneath.

A 1969 (or just maybe 1970) Firebird.
A 1962 Corvette.
A Packard.
A 2004 Dodge Viper.
A Ford flathead-powered motorcycle.
This Porsche wasn’t part of the show. It appeared to be new with a Florida drive-away permit.

Jim, my Dad used to own a Hudson, he said it had a really large engine, or at least it was really heavy in the front end. If you ever get a pic of one Id love to see it!

I've seen a bunch of them over the years, but none lately. Hudsons were known to be very fast transportation back in their day. They were one of the early stars of NASCAR.
Speaking of Hudsons, if you haven't seen the movie "Cars", you'll definitely want to see it when it comes out on video November 7.

A friend of mine in high school had a dune buggy very similar to that one. It was a lot of fun. Even though it just had a VW engine in it, it was real snappy because it didn't weigh very much.
