I have discovered Mozilla Thunderbird for email. Maybe someone on here told us about it but it handles Spam very nicely. I also use Mozilla Firefox for my web access. Happy with both.

I tried using Thunderbird for a few weeks. I have gone back to using Outlook and my webbased email. For some reason, Thunderbird didn't work well for me. I had the same problems when I tried to used Netscape's email one time. I'm trying to find ways not to patronize Bill Gates, but seems to never work.

Larry,

What went wrong? I've been using Thunderbird for quite some time now, and had no problems with it. The only thing I miss is a filter on the text of message, but I managed to work around that

I think my problem was that it was having a problem leaving my email on my web based email. I use SBCYahoo and I leave a copy of my emails on my yahoo as well as on my Outlook. Thunderbird was not leaving them on the server. Maybe I wasn't doing something right.
I know I was having another problem, but can't remember what it was now. I tried it about four months ago.

Larry,

Under server settings, there is an option that says 'Leave messages on server". I think that should do the trick.
