Exploding a nuclear bomb isn't that difficult. One can get the instructions off of the internet. Reducing the bomb to a form that can be placed on a rocket is a lot harder. I don't think the regime in North Korea can continue long enough to refine the bomb to a deliverable form.

I think the North Korea threat is a distraction. The primary threat is still from radical Islam.

I'm not sure how crazy Kim Jong Il is. But I would agree with Dave. Islam is a much bigger threat.
Diplomacy doesn't work with fanatics. But I think that if Kim Jong Il is aware that a nuclear strike against the US would result in his obliteration, he will be unlikely to try it.

Some say Kim is crazy and others say he is crazy like a fox. I think his sabre rattling (nuclear testing) is for the world's attention for recognition and that he may fire a missle with a nuclear head just to prove he can. But that is a short ranged goal. I agree with Dave that the long range threat is Islam. As I have said before we are still in South Korea after 55 years because only a cease fire was accepted not a peace treaty. Unless the defeatists win control of our government I see no sure way that we can or should leave the middle east in any shorter time unless the Iraqis, Afghanistanis prove themselve to be a big surprise which is nothing to count on.
