One thing I liked about the old board was that most of the time when a new person joined, they gave a little introduction. It was easier to welcome them if I knew at least what country or state they lived in and if they were a pastor and anything else they cared to share. The new Welcome Committee Forum seems kind of cold and impersonal. I wish there was a better way. I wish there was a way to encourage them to introduce themselves. I don't have any ideas how to do this. That is why I am posting it here.

Joel,

We always asked them to give some information on themselves in the welcoming message we sent them together with their password. I'm not sure if we can change the message they get when their registration is accepted in vBulletin, perhaps Scott knows?

I didn't know if you were saying anything to them or not. There may not be a better way to do this. Obviously we can't force them to introduce themselves. I just thought that maybe someone could come up with an idea.
