Have any of you taken this drug? Or do you know someone who has?

My doctor started me on it about ten days ago and I have been overwhelmed with fatique the last few days.

I have looked at the possible side effects in the handout and fatigue isn't listed. But sometimes there is anecdotal evidence that might add to what is "officially" known.

Barbara, I do have a close friend who is taking Celebrex, and she has never mentioned fatigue as being a problem.

However, I found a couple of web sites, one that lists fatigue as a "rare" side effect, and another listing it in the first paragraph.

Here are a couple of links that list fatigue as side effect:

Celebrex (http://www.healthsquare.com/newrx/CEL1078.HTM)

Barbara, especially check out this web site under side effects. Lethargy/fatigue is listed in the first paragraph of the side effects list (under "contact your doctor immediately if you experience....."

Celebrex Information from Drugs.com (http://www.drugs.com/celebrex.html)

Many times there are side effects that show up early on in taking a medication, only to subside after a few weeks on the medication. You may want to give it a little more time. And a lot of time a physician will start you out slow on a medication and build up the dosage over time.

Hope that helps.

Update:

Yesterday, during worship rehearsal the pain in my hand became so bad that I had to stop playing guitar.

I had learned to play through a dull, throbbing pain and have been for months. But this was a sharp pain, so severe I yelled :-) I didn't think yelling was conducive to worship.

So...I went back on the Celebrex when I got home.

Heavy sigh....

Getting older....not good.

Update:

My joint pain flared up quite badly when I went of the Celebrex. One Sunday I couldn't play guitar.

So I decided to give it another shot. Fought through the tired period.

I am glad I did.

The last few days I have been almost pain free! Makes sleeping much easier. More sleep...less tiredness. Works for me :-)
