This afternoon, Hannie and I went to a park in Dordrecht to shoot some mushrooms. This was the first day she got out of the door since I brought her home from the hospital. By the look in her eyes, you can see she isn't were she should be yet, but she is able to keep the pain under control with medication.
Anyway, the weather was nice and I think I managed to get some good shots.

We had planned about a year ago to go to France this week and would have left today. It was not to be, but I am happy she's home from the hospital and doing somewhat better. And most of all, I'm happy to be with her.

great pictures! Do you have a setting that makes the subject of your picture stand out clearly, and the background a little blurry? I think there is one on mine, (Im still learning about all the settings.)
I am amazed at the leaf colors here, and how they tell us we can know the kind of each tree by the color of the leaves, for example, the white birch like we had a lot of in northern NY State, usually has bright yellow leaves in the fall. I have seen many factories when I was a young boy that would take the bark from white birch and make paper products etc from it. Many many times I have helped my Dad cut down these white birch trees to gather wood for winter (we had a Franklin stove for heating the house) and what a very pleasant smell came from burning that wood!

Yes, aperture! Aperture is the opening in the lens. It can be wide open, and closed to a very small hole. I don't know the technics behind this but the effect of a wide opening is creating little depth in area that is sharp, while a small opening creates much more depth in the sharp area.
There is more to it, I found an article here that explains it much better than I do:
