As you may know, Edwin lives in the old part of Dordrecht, in fact almost the oldest part, where people started to settle in the 11th century and earlier. We visited him today and took a walk along the harbours and found an ice cream shop still open! We had an ice cream in its back garden that was just gorgeous because of the turning colours.
The #1 shot is from one of the two city gates that are left.
#2 is close to that point
#3 is looking the other way from where I shoot #2. The ship is an old steamer tow ship.
#4 is in that same harbour
#5 is on a house along that harbour. It says"
Who make lace that is perfect
For each bird sings as it's made to (Dutch saying)
This house is famous as of old
on the corner of St Joost it's called
#6 The old church of Dordrecht with the Long Iron Bridge

I am praying so much that Hannie's days of pain will soon be over.
But I have to say one thing -- she looks adorable in her cap!! Looks like a teenager sitting there on the bench!!

Bob, it used to be a wharehouse. They used a pulley and ropes to hoist things up in the old days.
In recent years, they put appartments in most of those old wharehouses, and in this one too. I don't actually know if they also put an elevator in it. It could be.

There is a reason for the cap, but I'm not going to post that picture. But I have another one for you, taken today, by candle light.

That is great that she has had a good day today --
I don't blame you for not posting that picture -- a girl DOES need her privacy, after all!! But soon, she'll have that full head of hair again!!!
The picture is beautiul -- I wished Hannie & I lived on the same continent -- I enjoyed her company so much the very few hours I got to spend with both of you. If I could just speak Dutch........LOL
