View Full Version : A Reminder from the Moderators

As you all know by now, since there seemed to be a consensus opinion that we open up this forum, that's what has been done. Everyone can read what you post here.

It occurred to Belinda and me that some may have posted on subjects when this forum was closed that, perhaps, they wouldn't want everyone to now read.

With this software, posts don't drift to the bottom of the board and then disappear. They stay around forever.

So we would like to remind you that you do have the ability to delete any posts that you would like to remain private and would understand if any of you decided to do this.

If you delete a post which had responses, perhaps you could let those individuals know. In that way they can make a decision about keeping their response on the board as well.

Many blessings,
Barbara

This tho't crossed my mind more than once, too, about people having posted months ago when they tho't it was going to stay closed. However, it appears that one only has the ability to delete their own posts for a very short time (24 hrs is it?) after they post it, so one would have to request a moderator delete the posts they want deleted months later, right??

Good point Gina.

I think with the old software you could only delete posts within 24 hours. With this software I think anyone can delete any of their posts at anytime.

Could one of you try and let me know? I have the ability to delete my old posts but it might just be because I am a moderator.

Blessings,
Barbara

No, the "EDIT" button even disappears after a short time, leaving only the "QUOTE" button available. So, we cannot.

Well, George Harris! ;) Welcome to NazNet ... we won't worry that your first post happens to be on the w2w forum. After all, it is your first post! ;) Besides, you probably pulled up the "new posts," and posted not even knowing which forum it was on. Have done that myself many times.

That would be nice to reconnect. Have been thinking now & then since back in Michigan (brrrr!!) of making it down to Indian Lake during camp or whatever, but just haven't made it.

Tell Helen, "HI!" and -- if she doesn't mind "computering" along with you -- tell her to stop by here, too.

Thanks for finding us here.

** PS ** PM'd you and Helen with some of that "catching up." gs
