Okay, ideas wanted, needed, desparate for. How does one remove the hard water ring out of the toilet? I have tried pumis stone, denture tablets, and they come out nice for about a day and then the build up begins. I have a feeling I never really got rid of the hard water ring to bing with. Inquiring minds would like to know cuz it makes the toilet look dirty when its not. :fav03

Snobowl worked for me. We had a toilet that was so terrible in our last parsonage, it was literally brown. It took many soakings with snobowl, but it was the only thing that ever did work.

Barb, we have such hard water here in Tucson, that we need to use those bleach tablets in the back of the tank and use them regularly. For the past couple of months I keep forgetting to buy new ones and my toilet starts to get that buildup quickly as well. So, among the top items on my list of things to buy this week are several boxes of those bleach tablets -- they last a couple of months or so.
Isn't this a grand conversation!!!

I knew we had to put something in the tanke but my little pointy brain just didn't kick in with toilet tabs. Thank you. I'm going strolling down produce lane this morning and will make sure I get those for each tank.
Then get rid of the ring and add the tabs.
Thanks Dana.

Our water in Orangeville is very hard.
But we have a water softener that makes a huge difference. I always know when it is time to add salt when the dishwasher stops cleaning the way it should.
Since I haven't noticed a problem with the toilets building up, the water going into the tank must be treated along with the tap water.

Yep, Dana is right...those bleach tablets in the tank do the trick.
