Next Saturday is Rememberance Day!!!

Next Sunday I am putting together a power point to show respect to our vets in the church and to all vets & soldiers out here.

I take every opportunity to say Thank You as many times as I possibly can.

OK I live in Canada and the vets here were fighting under the Union Jack - as this use to be our Nation Flag.

A few weeks ago we were talking about which songs to sing next week.

There is O Canada and I said it would be important to play God Save the Queen.

Two our vets are from the British Iles.

So this is what I need from any one out here:

The words I can get really easy - But I need the sheet music to God Save the Queen!!!!

Thank you all.

Marilyn, the sheet music is in the "Sing to the Lord" hymnal. (#763) But maybe that is not what you are looking for?.... a longer version? maybe?

I have the PowerPoint made up for God Save the Queen and will send it to you. Only one problem is that you may not have the font installed that is used in this hymn? HallvettBlackConditional?

National ceremonies and symbols

National anthem
'God Save The King' was a patriotic song first publicly performed in London in 1745, which came to be referred to as the National Anthem from the beginning of the nineteenth century. The words and tune are anonymous, and may date back to the seventeenth century. There is no authorised version of the National Anthem as the words are a matter of tradition.

"God Save the Queen" (or King as the case may be) is the same tune as "Our Country Tis of Thee".
