Oh, dear, it is always a trial when John attempts to fix a plumbing problem that has a box that says, "Installed in 3 Easy Steps."

He is replacing a leaking faucet in our bedroom bathroom. He bought the new one 5 months ago. It has been sitting on the floor in the corner of that bathroom long enough that I have started dusting it.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!! Oh, my! He can get so mad at himself and so frustrated when it does not work out as easily as it should.

I wish we had a plumber in our congregation so John could stick to preaching. LOL

I will let you know how it turns out, unless we are swimming in the bedroom later.

Yikes! My husband tries to fix things and it can be very scary. Except when its computers. He can do anything with a computer. I'm keeping him away from all plumbing though! :)

John says:
Three Easy Steps:
1. Remove old faucet
2. Install new faucet
3. Turn water back on

Real steps are on paper.....8 steps in all. And two trips to Lowes for extra things so far.

I am enjoying this.....he is so funny. He is not mad yet. What a sweet, patient holy man.

Miss Barb: We affectionaly call my Dad 10 thumbs. We don't let him have hammers, screw drivers, wrenches. But he is very good with duct tape. LOL

The project is done. Water is running out of the faucet only and into the sink only.

He did it! In less than two hours and only two extra trips to Lowes.

He is improving with age.....LOL

He climbed onto our very high house roof and cleaned out the chimney today. I was pacing inside the house the whole time. He tried to get some men from church to do it, but couldn't. Our house is very high and very steep.
He's back on Earth now. LOL. I 'd rather he fix a leaky fawcet anyday.:basic05

LOL! Seems like many of us have very unhandy husbands.

Unless it is a very simple task I have learned it can be to my advantage to simply pay someone to do the work.

Fortunately, we have a good freelance handyman who comes to our church.

I can't tell you how much my husband has saved us over the years because of his ability to do things. He does some plumbing, carpentry, fixes cars, just about anything around the house he can do......

GETTING HIM TO DO IT -- well, that's another story. HA HA He eventually does it, but not until he puts it off for a little while!!! HA HA HA

I always tell him he works better when there's a party at our house looming in the near future.........LOL

GOOD JOB JOHN!! I'M GLAD YOU GOT THE PLUMBING FIXED!!!

John is quite the handyman. He is not always a confident handyman. Pastoring small churches for 36 years has forced him to learn a lot of small skills that has saved us money.

He accomplished his task in less than 2 hours with two trips to Lowes for the correct parts or tool. And no grumbling this time!

Also, the leak is gone. We did not wake up to a flooded bedroom this morning.
