I was SHOCKED - okay, how about somewhat surprised - to see SO much of the hard drive "pie" eaten up.

No wonder my now-three-year-old computer has been kinda sluggish of late.

Question: Is there a quick/easy way to establish just what's taking up so much space w/o going down each item-by-item?

IF you have an answer for me, help yourself to a piece of pie!

:)

ps - I already do the recommended defrag/disc clean up/etc WEEKLY, so that's not the answer, I don't think.

First... what is the problem??
Your amount of available space looks OK to me, considiering that you have 4 zillion pictures on your hard drive...right??

My only answer is that you have the drive loaded up with all that neat "have to have" stuff.

You are using about 22.7 g.
I have a 70+ g hard drive, and I am currently using only 14.6 g, & have 56.5 free.

Maybe you should (if you have not already done so) move some of the "goodies" over to some CD's & delete them from the hard drive.

I'm sure some of the "less computer-challenged" folks here on NazNet have a better answer.

Right click on "My Computer". Then left click on "Explore". On the column on the left will be a list of what is on your computer. Right click on "Windows" and then left click on "Properties". That will tell you how much space is used up by Windows. On mine it is just 2.74 GB. My Program files take up 5.48 GB. You can click on all of those folders and see how much space is being used by each of them. If you have Norton Go Back, that will take up 10 percent of your hard drive. Like has already been said. If you have a lot of files and pictures that you don't access often, you can burn them on a CD and take them off of your computer. If you have programs that you don't use you could take those off too but individual programs usually don't take up much space.
