One of my piano students bought a snake on her way to piano lessons this afternoon. He came to her lesson and I had to take a photo!! She wanted to put him on the piano but I discouraged it. I thought that the vibrations from the piano would scare it.
There is never a dull moment when you're working with kids! Life is exciting!!

The word *hate* in the dictionary doesn't adequately describe my attitude toward that particular species that God saw fit to design and create; however, i must say that that creature is very adorable.
Just glad she did it at your house and not mine. :basic05 :basic05 :basic05
Thank you for sharing.
i always enjoy your photos. They show the easy side of just living a good clean life.

I'm glad that you enjoy my photography, even if it is of a snake!
Can you believe that she paid $30.00 for that reptile?!?!?
He was well behaved at piano but I hope that he won't come back for a follow-up lesson!

Awwww, the poor little thing. It looks scared. I prefer warm blooded pets but I think it's cute.

Belinda -- you have no idea how much I agree with your first statement -- except for the part after the "however." There's no adorable about it in my mind!!! HA HA HA

There is no way I would have allowed her to bring it in. I'm not being mean but what if it slithered away and you couldn't find it. I would have to move, I would never pillow my head that night. You are one brave soul.

Like many, I have been frightened of snakes. My husband and his brother never.
One area we lived, it was land settle only by Indians, there were many snakes. One was in the garage and I thought "now I am going to kill that thing and George will be proud of me". Well I did and he was not!!
He tried to shame me, he couldn't--- as it was a Garter snake and supposedly Garter snakes are good for the garden and surroundings???
Do you know what kind of snake this is?
My husband could not identify it.
I now am more settled when I see a snake and have now
petted a Boa Constrictor.
THAT is as far as I am going.
You are a very loving and thoughtful women.!!

picking on that neat little snake.
Most snakes are totally harmless. Only a few are poisonous.
Do you know what kind it is?
Looks kinda like a rat snake to me.
Would you ask the young lady, or did she tell you what it is?
Thanks

I believe it is a Rat Snake but I can't be sure. The snake was well-behaved and stayed in its container most of the time. Lindsey and her sister study piano from me and they have their lessons back to back. When Lindsey was having her lesson, Mr. Snake was secure!! She was so proud of her new pet!

Ewww! Beth, that's one picture I won't be saving in my files (or, maybe I should if needed to make a point sometime?). Anyway, guess they're good for something ... some of them eat mice. The rattler that my friend killed just under their wooden porch out west was full of mice.
However, I'd rather have them catch the mice a bit further from my house, since a rattler is not one of the benign-type creatures, but poisonous. Yuck!! Just remembered another friend, too, who moved to the north parts of Scottsdale, desert-type surroundings yet ... she went to the garage where her washing machine/dryer were; there coiled in front of the washer was a rattler. She did not do the laundry that day! Again, yuck!
