Never in my entire life had I used the coffee grinding machines at the grocery store.

Oh, I knew they were there. Occasionally would walk past them while another adventurous woman was grinding beans. And I would think to myself,

"Someday I'll do that."

But some day never came.

Until this past Monday.

I had had a delicious cup of coffee of the "cinnamon" flavour and thought to myself that it would be nice to have some at home. So that night, when I did my shopping, I ventured up to the display of beans. Sure enough, there were cinnamon coffee beans.

I took a bag, filled it with beans, put the beans in the machine, set the grind, held the bag under the spout and turned it on.

And my fresh ground coffee came spurting out. I have really enjoyed it this week.

So...I have joined the ranks of the "every woman".

I faced the challenge of the bean grinder and emerged triumphant.

My goodness, Barbara! Next thing you know, you'll be buying your own coffee grinder! :p

Yeah, that's what I did, when I found one for about half that I'd seen quite a few times for $20. 'Nice having a small variety of beans in the freezer (where they stay fresher than just sitting out), and then grinding just enough for a pot at a time). ;)

My husband grinds his coffee beans every morning. EVERY morning that little grinder does it's little job. He says the coffee is fresher that way. Those beans are strong. He drinks french roast and it looks like tar.

Tar, Donna? ;) Well, my take on coffee roasted extra dark [burnt?] is not tar, but a "burning rubber" smell/taste. I'm what some might think of as a wimpy coffee drinker, I guess, favoring the lighter roasts. ;)

BTW, this reminds me ... this afternoon when I made some coffee, I remembered how a couple of years ago when this new grocery opened, I went there, noticed some UNroasted/raw coffee beans. As I'd never seen them before in a store, it really intrigued me. I tho't, after looking at the price, that I'd get some someday and try to roast my own, as it might be fun!

Well, just a couple of months later when I decided I was going to try it, they'd disappeared. I asked about them; they mentioned they'd try to get some again. I asked about it again later ... same thing. Awhile later, yet same story. :( Next time I find some raw coffee beans, I'll grab 'em! Some I'd roast plain, then I'd try to flavor some of my own to see what happens ... just love to experiment with interesting things like that. ;)
