I'll post this here since it is a women's issue.

My friend Marde that I travel with in my professional organization called me today and told me that she has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

She goes to the doctor on Thursday to find out about surgery and what stage cancer she has. She told me that she has a tumor on her right ovary as well as her left ovary.

She is a wonderful christian and has a very positive attitude. She is strong; I'm the one that is a basket case!

Oh Marsha...I am so sorry. There are no words for this type of news.

I will pray.

Wow that is the kinda prayer request that hits all of us in the gut. I think it is our worst nightmare. I will be praying.

Please continue to pray for my friend, Marde. She was dismissed from the hospital yesterday. She ended up being hospitalized for two weeks.

I spoke with Marde this morning and she sounded good. Her voice was nice and strong. I have steered away from asking any specifics regarding her prognosis; however, I did ask her today if they had told her what stage the cancer is. The cancer is at a stage IV.

Marde is very upbeat and positive. However, I know this is not good news. We are trusting God for a complete healing.

Thank you for the update, Marsha. She has been on my mind. i will continue to pray for her as she comes to my mind.

Praying for you, too - as you journey with her. It isn't easy.

Marde is in the black dress. This picture was made on my birthday, 8/10/2006 in Reno, NV at our banquet.

Thanks Marsha for the update. You are right, Stage IV is not good news. But our God can work miracles. Thanks for the picture, for some reason it helps when I pray.
