The infraction system has been available on NazNet for some time, but it was recently decided that we will try utilizing it on our forums.
Basically, it is a system intended to help the moderators enforce the rules of NazNet.
It works like this: if a person does a post that breaks the rules, the moderators can not only remove the post, but can penalize the user an infraction point. Infraction points are held in accounts for three days. After three days they are removed.
If a person receives two infraction points they will be restricted from posting on NazNet until the infraction points expire.
Here is the point system - breaking any of these NazNet rules receives a penalty of 1 point each:
Personal Attack on NazNet member or some public figure
Inappropriate Language (outlined in the FAQ)
Discourteous-Uncooperative Behavior
Other breaking of the Rules of NazNet as listed in the FAQ---
Here's more information on how infractions work. Say a person commits an infraction on day one. It lasts for three days:
day: 1-2-3
point 1-1-1
But, on the second day, they commit another infraction. The three days of that infraction are added to day 2-3, but as a 3 day infraction, they continue on to days 4-5-6
day: 1-2-3-4-5-6
point 1-1-1
point ...1-1-1-1-1
Here you see that they will be unable to post on days 2 and 3 until the first infraction expires. The second infraction continues days 3-6 so any further infraction will put them over the limit again and add three more days to the end next oldest infraction period, in this case, days 7-8-9.
A couple of notes:
1. Without actually using the system, I admit that there is a lot I don't understand about it.
2. I don't want to use it at all. I hope this is the last I ever have to think about it. However, I don't think anyone should constantly stir things up or that anyone should think that they have some sort of "right" to participate on NazNet.
