Stephen Strasburg made his Major League Debut today. Admittedly, it was against the Pirates, but his line looked impressive. 7 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 0BB, and 14 K. 14's a pretty big number of Strikeouts, and he's starting off with an ERA under 3. I know some acted as though he'd pitch back to back perfect games right from the get-go, but I'd say this is definitely a good start.

He's going to have a big impact on DC, whether he's phenomenal right away or not. It's good for the league and for the city.

A 99mph fastball followed by a 79mpg curveball with a foot of break over the plate...this guy is downright sick.

I was at a restaurant the other day and it's the sort of place with TVs all over the place showing sports. One of the games was a minor league game and I was wondering why they were showing a minor league game on TV. Then I realized that Stephen Strasburg was pitching.

I think he's going to have a great first look around the league and then, after the hitters have had a chance to see his stuff first hand, he'll settle down to be "just" another really good major league pitcher!

Strasburg did well against the Indians today with 8 strike outs, 5 walks and they got two hits off of him and a homer. He came out after 1 in the 6th, not uncommon though. I still think he is going to be brilliant.
