By popular demand we are opening a Current Events Forum on a trial basis. Hopefully, this forum will be a good place to come and discuss current events: the latest news, politics, etc.

Actually, we are at a bit of a cross roads when it comes to these kind of discussions. Either we can have a forum where people can enjoy talking about this kind of stuff or we will prohibit such topics on NazNet. As you know, our goal on NazNet is fellowship among members and friends of the Church of the Nazarene. While political and news items can be the source of great discussions, they often also become sources of broken fellowship.

On the old forums the moderators sometimes allowed discussions on Current Events to be a bit more heated -- however, that never helped people enjoy NazNet fellowship any better. So that is not the case with this forum. People are to show the same courtesy and refrain from personal attacks here just as they do on any other forum.

The infraction points system will be applied here as it is elsewhere.

This forum is for Current Events from the news. If it is in the paper or on your favorite internet news site, discussions about it probably belong on this forum.

If you are in doubt, go ahead and post it here. If you do post a current event elsewhere, the moderators will probably move it to this forum for you. There is no penalty for making that mistake and over time, I think we will develop a "feel" for what belongs here instead of in general discussion.

Enjoy the Current Events forum!
