I am the first person to post in this thread. My being first qualifies, I guess, as being a current event.

But you sure aren't the only one to post now! I just went through the general forum and moved many messages posted over the past month to this forum. It was just a quick look and I am sure I missed several!
Looking at the titles, this forum should make any news junkie pretty happy.

I'm sure it qualifies for sitting at the right hand of the NazNet owner. However, can you drink the cup? :basic03

I think there is a need for a forum where a person can make a statement as to the political climate of the nation.
In political debates or "discussions" those who post or just read the post should do so with a open mind and not be offended when facts and opinions are stated that are true and widely accepted as the truth whether it sets well with your own opinion.
I like to discuss and debate politices but I do not like to "argue" with people who have a closed mind to facts that they do not want to hear.
A good open minded debate is a good source for knowledge and a challenge to dig deeper and learn more about the person or topic being discussed.
I watch Fox network, CNN, CNBC, Hardball, Laua Ingram, Rush, I will even watch Carvell and Paul Begalla, Tucker Carlson, I pretty well know where thay are coming from but They all open up a vast store house of knowledge and current opinions that I do not readly have access to. I try to read several newspapers and news magazines to at least be familiar with the talking points.
One good question to get some opinions on is Why can the Dem. not afford to nominate Hillary as their candidate for pres?

This is the current events forum, not the spiritualize-everything-somebody-writes-on-the-spur-of-the-moment-so-that-he-or she-can-claim-his-or-her-fifteen-minutes-of-fame forum.

I trust that you know we're just having fun with you. Sorry if it offended you.

Yes, I knew you were having fun. I was trying to return the fun by forming the longest hyphenated word in the history of the English language. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and thanks for the humor. God bless.

In response to Gerald's question about the Dems nominating Hillary. Polls and knowledgeable political scientists have tabbed her with the identification of "one of the most divisive characters on the current political scene" she therefore is running on ambition and those who consider her a "goddess." She earned her reputation of "divisive" while she was a White House resident. More recently she has flip-flopped on some issues. By coming to the front with such "baggage" she has crippled herself before the run. I would be most surprised if she won the nomination.
And if John McCain is the GOP nominee I would feel disenfranchised. Too liberal for me.

I suppose since it's a holiday we shouldn't be trying to figure out how to unseat you so somebody else could be first?? :basic05

Dont you think if the Dems nominated Hillary to run, that there wouldnt be any need of other nominations in the Democratic party? Is she popular in the party? Would anyone else be powerful enough to win? Or are the Dems tired of all that went on with her husbands controversy while in the White House?
