Last year I asked about Watch Night services and got quite a variety of responses. We have friends that invite us over every New Years Eve (about 12 years now). Last year I was at Sun Valley Indian School and the staff that was there over the break met in the Vine Hall lounge and played table games and watched some TV. I hope everyone has a better 2007 than I had a 2006.

We will have our teen fundraiser Chili Cookoff, followed by games and fellowship, then a midnight communion service.
(Then I will stumble home and sleep!!)

We will have regular service in the morning and then have a candlelight sing/testimony time with communion for the evening service. After that we will have games and food until anyone wants to go home.
I read an idea in an email I received the other day about having a "Forgiveness Eve" service on New Year's Eve concentrating on forgiving anyone or anything that made your year a difficult year. I think we should all do that privately and personally anyway.
2006 was a very difficult year for me emotionally, physically and spiritually. God provided all the way through, but it was still a very hard year.

Barb: you are becoming more and more like silver every day. That's what the hard times are for. And HE never leaves us in the fire alone.

Barb, what a great idea and what a spiritually freeing way to start the new year.
