We had terrible storms this morning, during then a rornado touched down for sixty seconds in north west Lonond, we live in south west London. It did horrific damage, the miracle being no one was killed.

Do you speak Spanish fluently?

Do you speak Spanish fluently?

Nope! But I'm wanting to. That's why I subscribe to / read Spanish stuff!

I studied Spanish while at university, and I've traveled to Spanish-speaking locales and utilized what abilities I have. My kids have studied it, too. And my one daughter is currently doing a lot of traveling (in her new job with the University of Waterloo) where she has an opportunity to use her language skills.

Dana, has just returned from 10 days in Mexico (Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Querétaro, Cuernavaca, etc.) followed immediately by a week in Nice and a week in Istanbul. Her plane was taking off from Istanbul as the Pope's was landing.

I'd like to be able to converse in French and Spanish (and, perhaps, Italian) in a relaxed fashion, without feeling like I'm really working hard to understand what's being said to me, and to be able to reply in the same fashion.

There are many ways to accomplish this, but I'm afraid that regular practice and language use is by far the best and most effective way to learn and hold onto a second and third language. I need to surround myself with French- and Spanish-speaking folks who are willing to speak their language in my presence, and be gracious to allow me to expand my language horizons.

N'est-ce pas?

¡Si! ¡Verdad!
