Like a little celebration? Enjoy the holidays? Now, I dont think your boss will give you time off for some of these special holidays, and dont try to use this for an excuse for a day off. Starting off with January, you might like to celebrate:

Jan 1 Japanese New Year
Jan 2 Science Fiction Day
Jan 3 National Chocolate Covered Cherry Day
Jan 4 Pharmacist Day/ Trivia Day
Jan 12 Clean off your desk day
Jan 21 Hugging Day
Jan 22 Chinese New Year
Jan 26 Austrailian Day

oppps I missed Jan 8 Rock and Roll Day/ Elvis' birthday

Sooooooooooo, get rid of the January doldrums! Make these days interesting.....do something that will make history in your own life!

Jan 26 Austrailian Day

Actually here it is simply called "Australia Day", it is our 4th of July. We will all be taking the day off so go ahead and feel free to do the same. And if you really want to go all out; get a felt hat, hang corks on the end of strings attached to the brim, eat a lamb roast with at least five vegetables (including...wait for it....roast pumpkin) and pavlova and go to the beach and you will pretty much have celebrated Australia Day appropriately :) .

You forgot Benjamin Franklin's Birthday on January 17 which is best celebrated by throwing pictures of him to any Franklins nearby, preferably in the denomination of $100 is fine with me. Y'all come to my house on that day.

It would take more than a day to clean off my desk.

Don't forget Boxing Day on Dec 26.

The well known American early statesman, Ben Franklin, has been identified as my great great grand uncle, Peter. But my dad, Watson Franklin, had a brother, Ben, and the name Ben has been a common male moniker throughout several generations. Strange as it may seem, my pastor's name is Ben Turner and his parents live with his family and the dad's name is Benjamin Franklin Turner, who's wife's name is Frances and she is called "Frankie." As you can imagine they are dear to my heart.

There's also Three Kings Day. I believe it's January 6. I was celebrated in Puerto Rico when I lived there in the 60s and that was when most of the gift giving was done.

I can think that the three Kings might today be Martin Luther King, Cissy King (the dancer on the Lawrence Welk show, and Rodney King who wanted us all to just "get along.: LOL
