As many of you may or may not know I work with drug and alcohol addicts in recovery. It's great work and I am right where God wants me so my frustration is not a sigh of something deeper.

Were a Christ centered biblical program that looks at addiction as a nasty combination of medical issues and spiritual idolotry. And so when they find Christ and begin to grow in him they are building a wall of protection around the part of their brain that covers the medical component of their addiction.

it works well for most who pursue the program and we have some wonderful success rates. However, one of the spiritual down falls our men and women have is that addiction is such a huge part of their life that if they partake in another sin of the flesh that doesn't seem so big to them they figure its ok.

Such phrases as Hey I am not druggin so I didn't think sex was such a big deal. And hey alcohol was not my problem so I didn't see a problem with a six pack.

I would welcome any teaching ideas about these sort of situations.

Bob? Are you familiar with "Celebrate Recovery"?

If not, you might want to have a look at it. Click here (http://www.celebraterecovery.com/)

It is comprehensive, scriptural, and not focused on any one addiction.
